On December 5th, SN replaced Now Create with the Best Practices site. For several months, SN had already been listing the assets published on Now Create in the new site, but now it has made the definitive move to consolidate success packs, templates, process guides, and other resources in a single location.
I see this change as positive, as it may signal ServiceNow’s intention to publish content that goes beyond best practices for platform implementation or upgrade (the main focus of Now Create). In fact, the site’s search includes the stage “What’s Next”, although for now it only returns two resources.
When announcing the change, SN guided the community on the possibility of downloading materials that.... One of the documents that - unfortunately - is not part of Best Practices is ITSM - Business Outcomes and Corresponding KPIs, an excellent starting point for defining IT Service Management objectives and indicators. I hope its removal is not permanent, but only for an update. The template for defining catalog items was also discontinued (Blank RITM Worksheet.xltx and Blank Request Template.docx), but this one truly needs restructuring, as the current format is complex and confusing.
When I realized that not everything from Now Create would be available in Best Practices, I followed SN’s recommendation and downloaded nearly 1,100 assets. So, if you would like access to the documents I mentioned or noticed that a resource you used daily is no longer available in Best Practices, you can find it in the directory where I published the files.
