Hi folks, wonder can you help
I am seeking to store IT contracts in the ast_contracts table. Would anyone know if we would be covered under our current licenses to do this. We currently utilise standard ServiceNow licenses only for IRM, ITOM, ITSM and have a CMDB.
Thank you!

Hi @darrendonaldson,
contract_manager role is needed to create edit a contract.
The contract_manager role is the primary out-of-the-box (OOTB) user role in ServiceNow Asset Management for handling the full lifecycle of contracts (e.g., leases, warranties, and service agreements)
Users with this role have full CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) access to the ast_contract table and related Contract Management application features:
Create: Draft and submit new contracts.
Edit: Modify contract details (subject to state-based restrictions).
Delete: Remove contracts.
View: Access all contracts and associated terms and conditions.

Users can manage or create contracts in ast_contract table - require fulfiller licenses (like contract_manager),
while end users can only view the records.
Users with the contract_manager role can use the Contract Management application to create various types of contracts, such as leases, warranties, maintenance, and service.
- Assets covered by the contract
- Users covered by the contract
- Terms and conditions associated with the contract
- Other documents related to the contract
| contract_manager | financial_mgmt_user | Manages the contract life cycle. Can create, edit, and delete contracts. |
