What is expected?

Rising Stars show a commitment to being present and resourceful. You are expected to be polite and respectful to others at all times as detailed in the ServiceNow Community Code of Conduct. You must be responsive and create original content that is helpful.

This is demonstrated through online discussions with others, attendance at events like SNUGs and Developer Meetups, sharing helpful comments, providing accepted solutions to questions, and many other contributions to the ServiceNow ecosystem.

Eligibility and Selections

Who is eligible?

  • You are a ServiceNow practitioner: partner, customer, or independent. Only ServiceNow employees are not eligible for this award.
  • All applicants must be registered members and you will need to provide the link to your community profile.
  • Your content and activities must be up-to-date within the last few months.

When is Rising Star awarded?

You have two opportune times to apply.

If you apply in July and get selected, then you will be announced in September. If you apply in December and get selected, then you will be announced in February.

The Rising Star award is valid until the end of the calendar year. Eligible members will be encouraged to apply again for the following year.

ServiceNow reserves the right to induct Rising Stars at other times if necessary. ServiceNow also reserves the right to revoke Rising Star status for an individual.

I used to contribute.

1) I have asked and answered many questions.
2) I have written many articles.

However now my profile says that I have written 0 articles and 0 Questions and I have fallen back to a Kilo Contributer.  I also can't post Articles.  So its all a bit discouraging.

Hi @Doug5 I've noticed your other recent comment about "combining your profile from two email addresses." Apparently that is causing some issues with your profile. I'll see if someone from our Admin team can investigate.

For now, I'll move your comment to a more relevant space on the community where you can disclose your email etc. in private.

Hi Sarah,

Now a days I see different star colors against user profile in Developer Community. What does they refer to?

Sandeep Rajput

@Divya Menneni A green star SandeepRajput_2-1682790390988.pngalong with a user profile represents an MVP user. Whereas a blue starSandeepRajput_3-1682790487147.png

represents a Rising Star user on the community.

I personally dont like the form for submitting nominations. The form for nominating someone else is too descriptive and we may or may not have any clue about the Nominee's overall exp, skills, certifications etc.

The form makes sense if someone is nominating himself but in my pov I would think twice submit a nomination for someone else if it asks too many details. It should ask only the nominee name, links and sources, profile URL etc.

Hi @Sarah G_ ,

I also have the same issues. My ranking seems have been degraded to a tera contributor only.

Thanks,

Bill

The Rising Star Program....says "The submission process will be open July 1-31 and December 1-31st each calendar year."
It is already end of working day on Dec 1, 2023. When you click on the Make a Nomination button it says "Sorry, this survey is not currently active."

Hi @Sarah G_ @Dr Atul G- LNG @Mexiprince ,
I used to share Servicenow articles on my LinkedIn profile only. Can I apply for the Rising Star and will I be eligible or is it mandatory to post those articles on Servicenow Community?

Hi @CharanjeetSingh

If you asked my experience, matter the impacts. Don't think about being helpful or correct, contribute to community. Sooner or later hard work will pay for sure.

Thanks @Dr Atul G- LNG for sharing your thoughts. For sure I will keep posting and sharing the knowledge.

But you know badge matters 😄. Just wanted to confirm if public posts on LinkedIn profile will be eligible for Rising Star or I need to increase my engagement on Servicnow community along with LinkedIn?

Yes, if you are a Rising Star and you move to a new organisation, you keep your Rising Star status.

Hi @vishesh_jha

If the credentials have company domain you need to raise a case to change email address . If it is personal email not a problem.

HI, @Shaqeel ,

That’s what I heard from Sarah as well. I understand that April is ending soon, and I’m not sure why they haven’t opened the nominations yet or what their next steps are. Unfortunately, I don’t have any additional information about the timeline or process at this point.

If I hear anything further, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Best regards,
Selva Arun
