Per a recent HI Support conversation, it appears the AI Search Assist driven version of Contextual Search is not capable of evaluating filter configurations as provided by the Zing driven version. Out of the box, Contextual Search provides table filter configurations for the results sets so in the event you wanted to add some sort of filtration of results based on customer details or the user performing the search, that is possible.
However, once the configuration is in place to use AI Search Assist, it stops honoring the table filter configurations. There appears to be no equivalent way to accommodate filtering the results. I assume this is a limitation of AI Search itself as it does not seem there's a great way to do this for global search and facet filtering out of the box today.
The reason we're seeking the AI Search over the default behavior is to ensure we're tracking case deflection in our customer CSM portal when users go to enter a new case. Our contextual search is configured to take the short description and product details for the given user's customer account and cater the results to their portfolio. Without using AI Search, the analytics do not work correctly nor are they tracked.
Has anyone encountered this limitation and found a viable alternative or workaround? For context, the table configurations I mention are within the contextual search application settings found in the following navigation:
For platform experience: Contextual Search > Table Configuration > (select table you're targeting) > Related List - "Filter Configurations"
For portal experience: Contextual Search > Record Producer Configuration > (select record producer used in the portal) > Related List - "Filter Configurations"
The setting that changes the contextual search (in portal) over to AI Search Assist:
AI Search > AI Search Assist > Record Producer Configuration > (link this to the record producer needed and it activates the AI Search variant logic)
Thank you for your time in reviewing this!
