How to make a report group by day/ week/month

How can i make a report Grouped by Day/week/ month.

Note: I Don't want to achieved it via interactive filter Orr PA report Functionality .

Hi Maik ,

That was specific to Escalation process , though  you asked my exact requirement hence i posted same .

In Generic way from report perspective  i wann know is it possible to achieved any report .

please correct if I am mistaken anywhere .
