How to make our Knowledge Articles searchable in Google?

We recently moved to ServiceNow and use the Customer Service Management application. We use the Customer Service Knowledge base to publish Knowledge Articles to the web. If we provide the URL to our customers, they are able to access the Knowledge Article, however, they are not able to search our Knowledge Articles from Google. Is this possible? If yes, what additional steps do we need to take?

If I think what you are asking for is to have google's search algorithm search your knowledge base instead of the Zing search thats provided out of the box.

At one point there was a way with a custom Google search, but based on the docs this is heavily outdated.

Personally, I'd avoid this because then google has to crawl your KB content.  So if there is anything sensitive / proprietary, the crawlers have to pick that up to make the search efficient.

Hi MB,

Thank you for your inputs. To clarify, the intention is to make our Knowledge Articles be searchable from Google, preferably as top results. I believe this is what is called Google SEO (search engine optimization).

Hi Prince,

The below blog might help you setup your knowledge articles to be SEO friendly.

However, can you please let me know if you have already done/tried any SEO configurations for your knowledge articles?
