Need Help – Record Producer Submit Error: “Something went wrong and your request could not be submit

Hi Community,

I’ve been trying to figure out an issue with a Record Producer in my Service Portal but haven’t been able to resolve it. Whenever I try to submit the form, I get the error:

“Something went wrong and your request could not be submitted. Please contact your system administrator.”

Here’s what I’ve already tried so far:

  • Checked ACLs on the target table (ensured guest user has create/write access).

  • Verified Record Producer availability (set to public / guest).

  • Tested catalog and category user criteria (nothing restrictive).

  • Tried suggestions around API authentication (unchecking “Requires Authentication”).

  • Reviewed browser console – I keep seeing 401 Unauthorized or sometimes 500 Server Error.

Even after trying these, the error persists.

👉 Could you please guide me on what else I should recheck in this process?

  • Are there any specific API methods (like order_now / submit_producer) that I need to reconfigure?

  • Do I need to look into inactive custom fields or function fields that might be breaking submission (like mentioned in KB articles)?

  • Any additional troubleshooting steps you’d recommend to isolate the root cause?

I really appreciate any help from the community as I’ve been stuck on this for a while.
