Just got into the ServiceNow ecosystem. Planning to take my admin exam next month. Was wondering from some of the seniors what is the best way forward for going from a rookie ServiceNow admin to an intermediate level. Thanks, Chet

Hi @ChaitanyaT44431 ,
A good roadmap from beginner to intermediate would be as per my experience and understanding:
- Master the Basics : Go through the ServiceNow Fundamentals course on Now Learning. Practice every concept (tables, forms, lists, update sets, ACLs, notifications, catalog items, workflows).
- Hands-On Practice : Set up a Personal Developer Instance and experiment daily. Try building catalog items, workflows, and reports instead of just reading theory.
- Prepare for Admin Exam : Use the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator Exam Guide and sample questions. Focus on key areas: User/Groups/Roles, Tables/CMDB, Update Sets, UI Policies/Business Rules, Import Sets/Transform Maps, Reports/Dashboards.
- Go Beyond the Exam : Learn Flow Designer & IntegrationHub. Start working on ITSM applications (Incident, Problem, Change).
- Community & Practice: Actively participate in the ServiceNow Community and try answering beginner questions. Teaching helps retention. Follow the ServiceNow Docs they’re extremely detailed and exam questions often come from there.
Additional tips: Go through Now learning courses ans ebook ( I repeat don’t miss )
Watch some YouTube videos.
If you found my response helpful, please mark it as ‘Accept as Solution’ and ‘Helpful’. This helps other community members find the right answer more easily and supports the community.

Start with ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals course from ServiceNow University,
Complete your ServiceNow Certified System Administrator CSA exam.
In parallel, get a free PDI from Developer website to practice the topics you learn as everything you study would make sense only when you try to configure it in the instance.

Once you understand the fundamentals, take it to next level by going through various ServiceNow modules available and see which interests you. Start going through specific courses for those modules.
I would recommend you to go through Application Development courses and aim for ServiceNow CAD certification as it would help you in future irrespective of the modules you would be working.

All the best for your journey !
