Teams using CWM to manage their work related to other tables on the Now platform may want to create a CWM board that is automatically populated by data from another table. For example, teams could leverage a Service Catalog request as an intake form to create CMW tasks on a specific board.

 

You can use this example as a starting point to create your own custom mapping between any table and a CWM Task!

This looks like it has a lot of potential to "integrate" between a lot of different places and help a team (not just individuals from a team) manage all of their work in one place in CWM.

 

Is there any chance that this feature will be provided out of the box at some point in the future?

@Jonathan F Definitely an area where we are exploring. Are there specific work types and use cases you are looking to support? What teams and what types of work flows would need this capability?

If I were to describe what my manager asked for without attempting to make it align with this specific customization, he basically wants the equivalent of "My Work" but for his team. Also, it would need to include an agile board, whereas the version of CWM we have in our dev environment only has a list view available in the "My Work" tab.

 

So, you would create a board and list the Groups (for my team, we are split so that we have one itil group and two pps_resource groups), and then all sc tasks, incidents, demand tasks, and project tasks would appear in the backlog. similar to My Work, it would start with the 11 item types listed there.

 

I think in a different post or at some event I mentioned that my IT department would likely also want to see vulnerabilities and security incidents as options in My Work, so I would similarly add it to this My Team's Work feature.

 

Thank you for asking! But in the meantime, I'm pretty sure that in the absence of providing such a feature OOB, this post is something my platform team could run with if the topic bubbles up to the top of my team's priorities.
