Yes CWM Boards are capable enough to bring more than 1000 tasks (Project tasks, Incidents, Stories etc) into a CWM Board at once using Connected Work
Connected Work normally caps on how many ServiceNow tasks (e.g. Stories, Epics, Incidents, Project Tasks) a CWM Board can be brought into your Boards when the initial filter condition is applied. If your team tracks a larger backlog, a few admin settings let you raise that limit, as long as you test the change first in a draft Board.
⚠️ Caution Every extra task on a board adds load, so raise the limit only as far as your team needs. Setting your Boards to show 1,000+ Tasks adds real load to the CWM Board and can take noticeably longer Board loading time, especially on refresh. We recommend your team should test the changes in a non-production environment or on a dummy CWM Board before you apply it to a live working Board.
Step 1: Setting the Connected Work conditions
- Select All (Top left) and search for
sn_cwm_import_config_list.do. - Filter for the list by specific Board name.
- Select New, add the relevant details (Reference Table name e.g. Incident, Work item type display name, icon) and select Save.
- Select "All" and search for
sn_cwm_board.LIST. - Filter for the specific Board name, then update the Tasks to show field from
1000(or any value based on your requirement - Teams should exercise caution when adding higher values) to the value you need.- If "Task to show" column is not visible, Use the personalise gear icon to enable the column in the list
Step 2: Refresh the Board and the connection
- Return to the CWM Board and refresh the Boad.
- Open the Connected Work modal and refresh the filter condition as well.
- The relevant number tasks appear after a few seconds depending on the number of tasks connected.
Spoiler
Capacity and speed rarely come hand in hand, so test on a dummy board and raise the task limit only as far as your team needs to keep your Board loading speed unimpacted
