The Core of LiquorBot: The ServiceNow App

LiquorBot runs on a custom ServiceNow app built with App Engine. It includes interconnected tables for managing orders, storing recipes, and tracking inventory. These tables ensure that LiquorBot knows exactly how to mix each drink with the right proportions.

Enhancing User Experience with UI Builder

The latest LiquorBot iteration features a sleek new interface. Built entirely in UI Builder, it offers a visually engaging menu where users can quickly navigate through cocktails, mocktails, and shots. Additional features like visual pump tracking ensure that ingredients are always stocked and ready.

 

Tackling Performance Challenges

Handling LiquorBot’s extensive menu comes with challenges. Each ingredient change triggers thousands of events due to the recipe-ingredient relationships. Optimizing this process is an ongoing focus, as we look for ways to scale the system without compromising performance.

 

From Node-RED to Klipper

Initially reliant on Node-RED, LiquorBot now uses Klipper—a software designed for 3D printer controllers—to manage pumps and LEDs. This migration has streamlined operations and enhanced accuracy. Integrations like the CocktailDB API further enrich the experience by fetching recipe data and imagery.

 

Building Your Own LiquorBot

Want to recreate the magic? ServiceNow’s LiquorBot spoke makes it easier than ever. It includes actions for dispensing, inventory management, and more, all integrated with Klipper for seamless control.
