Last week, Melbourne played host to an exciting series of ServiceNow events, starting with an AI-focused Developer Meetup the night before the World Forum. It was a night of networking and friendly competition setting the perfect stage for the big event that followed the next day.
✨ Now Assist vs Melbourne
At the AI Meetup, we played a game called Now Assist vs Melbourne that put the crowd to the test. Teams were tasked with providing responses that could outshine Now Assist, ServiceNow’s in platform GenAI capability. It was a great way to show the capabilities of AI while challenging the room to think creatively about how humans can complement artificial intelligence.

One highlight of the evening was Dan, an attendee who brought along his "best boy" Toby, a lovable Golden Retriever who charmed the entire room. 😍
Another standout was a fellow colleague, Daniel Hoffman, who showcased his custom-built robot, Beepo. Inspired by the Star Wars universe, this droid was capable of identifying objects and documenting them directly into ServiceNow, giving us a glimpse of what’s possible when robotics meets workflow automation. 🤖
🐨 The Melbourne World Forum
The World Forum itself was a resounding success. It was an incredible experience connecting with the ServiceNow Community in person, especially after so much virtual interaction over the past few years. One of the most exciting moments for me was giving away my first Find Me at the Forum: Kristy Edition prize. Kevin Clark took home the prize for building a ServiceNow app called SNapp, a brilliant clone of the collectible card game Marvel Snap. The creativity in the room was off the charts, and I was thrilled to see how people are using the platform in new and innovative ways.
Throughout the day, the Community Pavilion was buzzing with activity, particularly around sessions that featured the latest developments in Xanadu, which generated a lot of interest. People were eager to learn about the new features and possibilities this release unlocks for both developers and administrators alike.
The CreatorCon space was, as always, another highlight of the Forum, housing some truly innovative and fun demos. One of the crowd favorites was the SmartKeg, a ServiceNow-enabled coffee and beer tender designed to help you avoid those dreaded P1 coffee and beer outages. Whether you needed your caffeine fix or wanted to relax with a cold brew, the SmartKeg was on hand to keep the refreshment flowing smoothly.
Also in the CreatorCon space was the NextPhotoBooth, a ServiceNow-driven photo booth experience that added a futuristic touch to the event. Attendees could take photos and instantly share them, making it not just a fun activity, but also a seamless part of the digital experience powered by the ServiceNow platform.
🍾 Celebrating Milestones
We also had the chance to celebrate a very special milestone. Jason McKee, a cornerstone of the ServiceNow Community and organizer of all things CreatorCon, marked his 10th anniversary with ServiceNow. It was a privilege to celebrate his contributions with a group photo in the NextPhotoBooth with an ridiculous 📸 💣 by yours truly!
That's a wrap for Melbourne! See you in NYC on November 7th!
