Whether they attended in America, the Netherlands, or Australia, many newcomers walked away from Knowledge '22 impressed by the CreatorCon "belle of the ball:" App Engine Studio (AES). This new excitement was in large part due to all of YOU, the ServiceNow developer community, and how you opened up about all of the awesome things you have been building and doing faster than ever. (And AES isn't even a year old yet!) 🎂 Check out the video below featuring some of your exciting stories. ⬇️

But these interviews represent only the tip of the iceberg of what's being created on the ServiceNow platform. And that brings us to the topic at hand: the #BuildWithAES Challenge! We're opening up this #BuildWithAES Challenge to better understand how our developer community is using AES, what use cases its being used for, and which pieces of it are most valuable. Simply try AES yourself if you haven't already, share your AES knowledge, and show how you built your app with AES. You’ll inspire your peers to start developing apps fast in one environment using App Engine Studio.

Don't you worry - here at ServiceNow we're all about a healthy amount of quid pro quo for a job well-done 🤝 We've never seen corporate swag fly off the shelves as fast as our '22 CreatorCon shirts, so we thought that reviving this design one more time (sans the CreatorCon logo) would be a perfect prize for this contest.

Hi Everyone,

This post is to participate in #BuildWithAES challenge

I created a currency exchange app built using UI builder Next experience. The currency is converted using Servicenow inbuilt API GlideCurrencyConverter. Built on Portal App Shell from AES.

Additionally, I created scripted REST API, using this we can utilise Servicenow inbuilt GlideCurrencyConverter for other third party application currency conversions.

This can be industrial use case, instead of buying Currency APIs for other applications from third parties. We can utilise the Servicenow API which gets data from ECB Exchange and share with other organisation applications.

Hi,

This is to participate in #BuildWithAES challenge and below is the details.

I am new to ServiceNow space and started picking up the things from the platform. Since 4 mons I have been using AES features and building the PoC's to demonstrate the various functionalities at my end. As a part of this, I have done a small work on how to build a Chatbot and embed it in the Service Portal from AES. I did research on Engagement Messenger store app given by ServiceNow. I have prepared a neat document and is attached for more technical information.

I've been playing around with Application Engine Studio lately and challenging myself to see how quickly I could spin up an application in a Configurable Workspace to demo for a client.
Turns out it only took around 5 minutes to set up a basic ticket application!
In this post, I take you through how easy it is to #buildWithAES on the #servicenow platform.
