NOTE: MY POSTINGS REFLECT MY OWN VIEWS AND DO NOT NECESSARILY REPRESENT THE VIEWS OF MY EMPLOYER, ACCENTURE.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE
Assumes having a good intermediate level of knowledge and/or familiarity with ServiceNow.
I recently had to go through this process to get Orchestration activated on my PDI and on one of our corporate development instances. This was a bit of a surprise as I had thought it was included still with IntegrationHub. It is not. In this article I outline what I found and my resources for re-activating and making use of Workflows and Orchestration. Don't forget that ServiceNow's mantra is thus: If you can't do it in Flow Designer do it in Workflows. If you can't do it in IntegrationHub do it in Orchestration. It certainly is a weird thing to say since ServiceNow no longer officially supports Workflows or Orchestration.
Training
So, there is almost no training materials in Workflows or Orchestration that I could find on nowLearning. Just this:
This class appears to still be offered, but when I checked with the ServiceNow training department I was told it had been discontinued:

Activation
For Vancouver (current as of this publication) the process for installing on a corporate instance is outlined here: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/vancouver-servicenow-platform/page/product/orchestration/task/t_A...
For installation on your PDI follow this process:
- Log into https://developer.servicenow.com/dev.do
- Click on your account icon in the upper right-hand corner of the dev site. The account and instance options page will be displayed.
- Choose the Activate Plugin link. The plugins list page will be displayed.
4. Click on the Orchestration Activate button. It will take a little bit (<30 minutes) for the plugin to be available.
5. Log onto your PDI and open Orchestration > Workflow Editor
6. You should see Packs, and Custom tabs now appear in the left-side navigation.
7. Click on the Packs tab. You now should see Orchestration Packs is available.
8. You might want to go back and install the PowerShell Orchestration pack (and/or others) to experiment with those as well. If you are new to Orchestration I would suggest installing the Examples plugin as well on your PDI.
9. BTW, for PDI work, you will need to install a MID Server on your local machine as well.
See: ServiceNow Discovery 101: Setting Up a Local MID Server
That should do it.
Resources
Advanced articles by myself. However, these are stale and I am in the process of updating them to working in Vancouver. If you are interested you can find them under the Orchestration topic here: Community Code Snippets: Articles List to Date
