Hi there,

Explanation -

To aid in performance evaluation, the Stats tool records statistics for system activities that affect performance such as the execution of queries, scripts, and transactions. To open the page, navigate to System Diagnostics > Stats or type stats.do into the filter navigator and click enter.

This page is used extensively by ServiceNow Technical Support Engineers and is accessible to any admin user. When contacting ServiceNow support, they will often ask for information included in the first segment on the page. This section includes the following:

  • The name of the instance
  • The build information of the instance and MID Server, including the release version
  • The status of the F5 load balancer distributing connections between the clustered nodes
  • The name of the application server to which the user is connected
  • The name of the ServiceNow instance node

The transaction log shown earlier includes the system_id attribute. On the stats.do page, it is listed as the Connected to cluster node.

This information is significant because system logs are stored based on specific nodes, so understanding the node the transaction took place on and the node you are logged into is vital to successfully troubleshoot many issues. Having this information, as the ServiceNow Support Specialist, working on an incident, you will be able to connect to the appropriate node and read pertinent log data when performing your analysis.
