Hello, we need to change the process of inserting change tasks under change requests.
Current process: When the standard change request is submitted from a template (which has change tasks in it), it needs to be approved first for the tasks to be added automatically under the request.
Desired process: When the standard change request is submitted using a template with tasks we want these tasks to be added to the change request right away once it is created.
Is there any way to change when the Tasks are inserted?
Solved! Go to Solution.

I've found a BR which creates child tasks under change request, modified it to achieve desired behavior. Turned out that we customized the workflow a while ago. It exists but does nothing in our instance.

I've found a way to achieve it using the Execution Plan approach but in this case we'll need to create an execution plan for each existing change template with tasks and add tasks to execution plans which is time consuming. Trying to find a way to change the process using existing templates.

Hi @Tanya20
You can check the OOYB flow of standard change , and modify as per need.

HI @Dr Atul G- LNG ,
thanks for the suggestion! I've tried that with no luck. I've moved the activity which calls 'Change Request - Standard change tasks' (that should generate tasks) in the OOTB 'Change Request - Standard' workflow. but it didn't change the behavior for some reason. They are still generated after approval only. Please see screenshot below.
