Adding manager approval at RITM level for catalog item

Hi all,

I have a more general question. I am really struggling to get to grips with flow designer.

I want to add a manager approval at RITM level for a catalog item. I feel like this is simple and I am over- complicating it, but I really don't know where to start.

So far I have added a trigger that is the service catalog, adding an action 'get catalog variables from 'specified CI', and I have attempted to create an 'ask for approval' task and configured it as approve when 'anyone approves', when: 'data pill for requested for's mananger'.

Any help or tips would be much appreciated as I've been staring at this for 2 days now to no avail.

Thank you!

Hi Gunishi,

Are you grabbing the requested for via the variables, or is that for something else?

Just this should work on the approval step, using the requested for dot walked through the requested item.

Note: If there's no manager for the requested for, no approval (not even a blank one) will be generated.

Hi Saurabh,

Thank you so much for your help.

So sorry I can't share screenshots, my PDI is on my company laptop at the moment and it will not allow for screenshots of anything.

Hi Rhodri,

I have the exact same so will test it now!

I also have another task where after it has been approved, if it is a certain brand of laptop I want to add a 'procurement task'.

Would I do this by adding an if branch and the 'then' part is creation of a catalog task?

I just the conditions to be that if the procurement task is marked as closed complete then the whole request is complete and if not the request is marked as incomplete.

Many thanks as you advice and help has been a great aid so far.
