Adding manager approval at RITM level for catalog item

Hi all,

I have a more general question. I am really struggling to get to grips with flow designer.

I want to add a manager approval at RITM level for a catalog item. I feel like this is simple and I am over- complicating it, but I really don't know where to start.

So far I have added a trigger that is the service catalog, adding an action 'get catalog variables from 'specified CI', and I have attempted to create an 'ask for approval' task and configured it as approve when 'anyone approves', when: 'data pill for requested for's mananger'.

Any help or tips would be much appreciated as I've been staring at this for 2 days now to no avail.

Thank you!

Hi Gunishi,

Are you grabbing the requested for via the variables, or is that for something else?

Just this should work on the approval step, using the requested for dot walked through the requested item.

Note: If there's no manager for the requested for, no approval (not even a blank one) will be generated.

Hi Gunishi.

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes with your IF condition you could make it conditional on a varialbe, then create a catalog task after for procurement.

The stage setting is a little trickier, it doesn't work really in flow designer if you just "update" the stage using "update record". Really you need to use the stage setters on the right hand side (see above). These have to happen after an action, if you mouse across to the right in between two options they will appear. If there are no stages visible, press the 3 dots in the top right and then load some changes in from the set stage option 🙂
