Approval for 'valid to date' end retiring articles

Hi,

When an article's valid to date is completed, it goes to pending retirement stage and an approval is triggered. When approver is trying to accept or reject the request, we get an error message to extend the valid to date.

Why do we need to extend the validity for approving the retired articles. Is it OOB behavior?

Hi @Vadla Srimaan 

The reason is when valid to date over, article is already expired and considered as no more valid. So if you wish to approve, need to add the validity may be 1/2 days.

when article is in pending retirement stage, approver wants to retire the article by approving the Request. 

My question is why we should extend the validity again for retiring articles.

Sorry, I dont have valid reason for same? Is it something , added by you/customer.  or log a HI/ Now Support case to get it clarified.
