Are there any plans to allow ServiceNow Store Apps to be installed on PDIs?

I am finding more frequently the need to evaluate plugins/apps that are only available on the ServiceNow Store.

At this time, i do not believe we can install Store apps on a PDI - please correct me if i am wrong.

Due to company restrictions it is not possible for me to simply install these apps on a sub-prod instances to evaluate/ learn/play.

When will ServiceNow allow (their) Store apps to be installed on PDIs?

That's good. For the store apps, you can search within your instance  and see if they pop up, if not, go to developer.service-now.com and then manage your instance and you'll see "Install plugins", try checking there as a backup.

Normally...if they allow any, it's made to all instances and isn't things that are exclusive to PDIs. And they are common type store apps from SN only, so they might be "store apps", but...they're on all instances for install. Not the same as having to go to the store and clicking "Get", which is what I assume you were wanting to do.

In any case, to speed things up, state your preferred store app here so that if/when the dev team checks out this thread, you've already mentioned it 😉

Hi,

Unfortunately, they aren't allowed and I don't see them adding support for it based on the history and the recent changes to PDI support (which is now more on us, as users, to simply deal with our PDI and if there's any problem, release and request a new one).

If ServiceNow are expecting users to simply deal with their PDIs if there's a problem then even more reason to allow installing ServiceNow store apps.  If we break our PDIs by adding the app, then it's all on us to figure it out!

Perhaps someone from the Developer Advocacy team could help bring some awareness to this 🙂

Well, one could argue that increasing the odds of it breaking and there being issues would NOT be a good idea, thus they wouldn't allow you to self install store apps. It's been like that for as long as I can remember, but sure, the dev team themselves can speak to this more 🙂
