Article template does not display the text from the “Preview Text” field.

I have created an article template and would like to specify information in the body text as a default for users. This works in the template, but when I use the template, the body text/preview text field is empty. What could be the reason for this? And how can I change it?

Hi @KatharinaH

I believe this is expected platform behavior. You can see the preview of the template, but when you use it, the content appears blank.

Hello,

The reason the body or preview text appears empty when using your article template is likely because the default text is set only within the template editor as placeholder content, which doesn’t transfer to new articles created from that template. To fix this, you need to set the default text as the actual initial value or default content property of the body/preview text field in the template, ensuring it copies over when new articles are made.

And how do I change the default value in this case?
