ATF How to get to Requested Item

Trying to test out the full order item to completed catalog process. I have a simple test with a few steps.

Search Catalog

Open Item

Set values

Order Item

Query the Record 

This ends with the REQ displaying on the screen. Our approvals are on the requested item. When you use the query record, there doesn't seem to be a way to get to the requested item to approve it. The only options are Cart or Request. How do you drill into Requested Item?

Could you please let me know if you have any idea how to verify whether the email is sent to approval person via ATF.
