Auto populate depertment field

Hello. 

I have a script that works fine with auto populating fields when a user is selected:

My issue is it gets ID and status fine and displays it, but when i tried with setvalue on Department it only showed the sysID. I tried with getdisplayvalue, but now it does not display anything.

Create variable let say 

Name - Refer to user table

2nd Email - type String

Go to auto populate - 

dependent Question - User

Reference - User and it dot walk to email

Im trying to do this, but the "department" box i want is grey and i cant select it.

my unit / department field is in a variable set

dot walk shoudl be sys_user.departmnet

May i know what is reason of u_department

Ok set it up now, do i just remove unit / department away from the script?
