Automated Email from Incidents( P1 and P2) based on Distribution Lists recored on the Incident

We have a requirement to record a Distrubution List on P1 and P2 Incidents and would need to understand what  is the best way to implement this.

Automated emails need to be sent to the Distrubution list from ServiceNow

did you explore scheduled reports where you can configure the DL email?

Ankur,  The business wants a palceholder for the Distrubution List to be stored and send email to the list.

the admins in the instance can configure the DL as per their requirement and update the scheduled report config record

what's the issue in that?

Sorry, please bear with me as the business is still refining the requirements. My current understanding is as follows:

Requirement 1
Ability for Service Owners to record Distribution Lists against a CI, potentially through a custom field within ServiceNow.

Requirement 2
Automatic email notification to the recorded Distribution List (or possibly an Assignment Group in ServiceNow terminology) whenever:

  • a new Incident is created as P1/P2, or
  • an existing Incident is upgraded to P1/P2.
