So i have seen this asked many times on the Community and there does not seem to be an answer.
**WE ARE ON GENEVA RELEASE**
UNTIL NOW.
There is a table that is not advertised in ServiceNow anywhere that i can find. There is no wiki about it, and there is no known discussion on the community about it that i could find.
Well DING DING DING... ServiceNow Devs do it again.
Broadcast Message: sys_broadcast_message table.
There is nothing in the filter navigator about it, so you'll have to create something for it to be in your Navigator List.
I have customized my form a lot. the basic form is just that: Basic:
The message seems like it's Full HTML coding and it is displayed like so: Just the red box. I have customized it to be the blue header in the center and spaced out.
But so far it's pretty awesome. I wanted to post about it because there have been so many questions about it without an answer to this point.

This function is pretty neat - however my message just blinks real quick on the screen. Unable to make the message stay on the screen and maybe allow the user to X it out to confirm they saw/read it.

We use this notify the Service Desk when an SLA breach is approaching. We are only a small firm and so we only have 2 or 3 agents on line at any time and the messages are set to expire after a short time period. We haven't noticed any performance issues as a result but perhaps we're getting away with it due to the user base being sub-300.
However, one annoyance I have with this is that, we created a new role to receive these ('sla_message') and assigned it to the right people and then built the template to add that role to the filter. However, Admin also get the messages. I don't need or want to see them and I can't find anywhere where it tells the message to send to admins as well as the roles specified.
Has anyone looked at this before?

D'Oh.
This happens to me all the time. I found that the default entry of the role filter field is "admin". I guess that, because it's a free text field it's picking up the admin role somehow even if it's not visible.
I've removed the default entry to see what happens.

Hi All,
it was a nice thread so far!
can someone help me answer my below queries pls:
1) is possible to send the email notification to a specific DL users. I see it works on Role based but any other possibilities of sending out the notification other than Roles?
2) Since it's role based, how about the Licensing part of it. would it impact the license being consumed. suppose we dont have users who has any role than we'll have to add them with some roles, that way i might have an impact on Licensing?
3) any other enhancement gotten on this Broadcasting?
