Calendar: Highlight based on

When using a calendar that is created as a report, is there a way to default the Highlight based on field.   Currently the default is --None--.   I'm attaching a screen print to show the field I'm referring to.   I want it to default to Category

I have created a module with this URL as link type:

sys_report_display.do?sysparm_report_id=7a28815ddb03f600f09efba61d961907&sysparm_calstyle=state

It shows a calendar with State as default highlighting. See also the article about this from karltysoe Change Calendar Highlighting

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately, with the New UI of Reports, adding the sysparm_calstyle does not set the 'Highlight Based On' option on the calendar report. Therefore, having a Application Menu in the Filter Navigator which references this type or URL will only work if the person has a 'Native UI' turned on for reporting.

I also attempted auto set the 'Highlight Based On' of a calendar within a dashboard that's referenced from an Application Menu but no luck. I used the same method as described above, but altering the 'Highlight Based On' field does not alter the URL for dashboards.

Any ideas?!

Hi Marques,

I have tried this also with the new Report UI and had no problems. Make sure you publish the report and use the published report URL in your navigation menu (with the "sysparm_calstyle=<your highlighted field>.

And also make sure that you have set the field styles for that particular field.

Thank you Paul. The "publish the report" part was the part I was missing. It didn't seem to work without doing that.
