Can an assignment rule be created on a table that does not extend from the Task table?

Trying to create an assignment rule for a table however it does not allow me to select the table, it's not on the choice list, when creating the rule. The table itself is self-contained and does not extend from any other table.

Is there a condition in place that only allows assignment rules to be created on tables that have been extended from the Task table?

Hi Steven,

Short answer - no. The table field is set to only show the task tables.

If you wanted to do something similar with a non-task table, take a look at Data Lookups.
