Can i enable the receiving mails in non prod instances for testing?

HI Community,

In our dev instances currently sending and receiving email is disabled...But now i need to test few case im going to enable the receiving email as true and not the sending.

So if i do that system will receive only emails after it is enabled or it will receive the older ones/ queued ones also to the instances

Please enlighten me on this

Hi @suuriyas 

Yes, you can enable it, but make sure this is done in the Dev instance (not your PDI, which you’re referring to). The email account must be set up there first, then you can add your email ID, and you will start receiving emails.

You can enable receiving emails without any issue. 

What do you mean by 'will it receive older emails'? It will receive the emails you are going to send and maybe some that are queued on external systems because they couldn't yet be delivered, but there is nothing you can do about that, since you don't own those email clients. Normally they would just bounce and the sender would have received a message about that.

On the other hand, how many emails do you think that are send to your DEV instance?
