Case Ticket Action - Ability to close at any state

Hi, I have a business requirement to allow the creator of a case, to close a case at any stage via the portal.
Looking at the widget, I have cloned and updated the html to allow the close option to show. But it wont allow the customer to click close when its in one of these other states. Im thinking it must be related to some process flow not allowing close at in progress?
Could anyone point me in the right direction on how we can allow this?

Hello @M_iA,
without seeing the cloned widget (and changes you made), my first guess would be that there is still a "write ACL" that is keeping the user from closing the ticket.

On my PDI (Tokyo Release) I can not find the script include:
