Catalog Item > Variable Set > Question Choice set to Inactive but still showing in Service Portal

We use a variable set in our Application Request service catalog item to be able to request various applications across different environments with specific requirements questions for each application.

Since we discontinued one of our applications, I set the Variable Set Question Choice for that application as Inactive=True and commented out all Catalog Client Scripts that referenced that choice item.  There's two Catalog UI Policy conditions that reference the choice list, and once I set the application to inactive, they are no longer appearing in the selection list.  However, the application is still appearing in the Service Portal when requesting an application.

I followed the exact same steps to remove another application and as soon as I made the Question Choice inactive for the other application, it was removed form the Catalog UI Policy conditions list and also as a selectable application on the Service Portal - I didn't even need to comment out references to the application in the Catalog Client Scripts, but I did afterwards regardless to clean up the code.

Has anyone experienced this issue before?  I had similar issues in Cherwell (prior to transitioning to SNOW) that were typically resolved with an IIS reset, could that be what is required in this case?

Note:  I've only inactivated the choice option in Dev - want to see it work before I promote it to Test & Prod.

It appears I solved my own problem.  I tried twice more to inactivate the choice option and on the third try it finally disappeared from the service portal.  Just one of those things I guess?
