Certain users not able to use global search fully

Hi SNC,

I am having an issue where: global search is not working for specific users. Only the TASK search group table is returning results for this user.

The following have been checked as possible sources and appear not to be the source of the issue: global text search settings, search groups, the user having proper role to globally search, clearing cache.

Any suggestions for solutions or places to look for them would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jeremy,



If other settings, which you have mentioned are correct, then it might be the reason that those certain user don't have access to other tables which are supposed to be shown apart from TASK search group table in the Global search result.

Hi Amlan- Thank you for the quick reply. The users have the itil role which is needed to search the other tables, is that what your suggestion is?

I only suspected that the access might be the root cause of the issue. You have confirmed that is not true. Let's wait for any other solution proposed by others.


I just wanted to let the SNC know that I have solved this issue, there was a custom group that had been added that was mandatory to be a part of to see all global search results which I overlooked.
