Change - configuration item field mandatory

Is it possible to make the Configuration Item field mandatory on just the change request? 

When I made it mandatory on the change request, it also became mandatory on the change task.

How you made it mandatory on Change request?

You should make it mandatory using dictionary override.

I opened the change form, selected configure dictionary on the configuration item field and checked mandatory.

I will take a look at dictionary override and will let you know how it goes.
