Change Management Collision Detector

Hello,

I have a requirement as below.

OOB Collision Detector can check the conflicts in CI field and Affected CI's (task_ci) related list of change record. I want extend this and check the conflicts in Impacted CI's(task_cmdb_ci_service) also.

If it can be implemented, Will there be any impact to performance?

Could you please help me in this.

Hi Raj,

Yes, it can be implemented. You need to extend some script includes (e.g. ChangeCheckConflicts) and introduce new conflict type (into scripts, conflict table's choice list and into system properties).

Regarding the performance impact, I don't expect big changes compared to current performance but it depends on structure of your CMDB. I saw one implementation of this requirement and there were no noticeable performance issues introduced by this feature.
