Hi,
At the minute on the cmdb there's a section at the bottom which shows all change requests where its been added in the configuration item field on the change request.
On the change request we have another section called affected ci's does anyone know a way I can get the affected ci's to update the change number on their record in a similar way?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi Andrew,
By 'another section' I assume you are using the out of box Affected CIs related list where the Configuration item on this task record (change request in this case) is automatically added and removed, if/when it changes, then you can add other affected CIs. When CIs are added to this related list, it's actually just creating a record on the task_ci table which relates the CI and the task, so the CIs are already related to the change request, it's just a matter of displaying this on the CI form. Luckily, there is an out of box related list to do just that. On (each, unfortunately) CI class form where you want to see this, right-click on the grey header bar and choose Configure > Related Lists. Add the related list named Affected by Task, and you will see every task record where this CI is listed in the Affected CIs related list.
