Changing label of a choice list effects the backend automations present on it?

Hi Everyone,

We are planning to rename the label of a choice value on a choice field without changing its underlying value. Since Flow Designer conditions usually display the label, I wanted to confirm whether renaming only the label could impact any existing Flows, Business Rules, or other automations, or will they continue to work as they use the underlying choice value?

Hi @prashanth1027 

If you rename only the display label of a choice value and do not change its underlying backend value, your existing Flows, Business Rules, Scripts, Reports, or other automations will continue to work as before because they reference the stored backend value, not the label.

renaming label should not have any impact unless any of your script (server side scripts such as BR, script include, scheduled job etc) uses getDisplayValue() on choice field which gives you the label and if that's being used in integration anywhere
