CIS-RC Done: Here’s What Helped Me

Hi all,

I recently cleared CIS-RC .

This is my second mainline certification in ServiceNow.

Honestly, I didn’t follow any complicated strategy - just focused on a few key things.

What worked for me:

  • Went through the ServiceNow University prerequisites properly - this is the base.
  • Focused on the blueprint weightage instead of trying to study everything equally.
  • Practiced using available question sets online - you’ll find a lot if you search. Helps to understand the pattern.
  • Had around 6 months of hands-on experience and practiced in my PDI, which made a big difference.

That’s pretty much it.

If you’ve covered these and are comfortable with the concepts, you’re ready.

Don’t overthink it - just go ahead and give the exam.

ahoy @AnjalPDijo,

congrats on passing the exam!

When you wrote "Here's what helped me", i was expecting some real experience or tips, what you shared is pretty much the prerequisite which cannot be skipped, no?

Maybe you can share something from your own experience rather than a generic text that doesn't add much, what do you say?

Where the rules are real, you'll find me

Hi @GlideFather

I kept the post simple because that’s honestly how my preparation was. I had a short deadline after booking the exam, so I focused only on what worked for me instead of trying multiple strategies.

From my experience specifically:

  • My ServiceNow work + hands-on practice in PDI helped me connect concepts faster once the basics were clear.
  • Question dumps did help, but I noticed that some of the answers aren’t always correct, so don’t blindly rely on them. It’s better to validate the concepts on your own as well.
  • Quizlet (platform) was useful for revising previous questions definitely helpful, though just one of many resources out there.
  • I chose to write at an exam centre, mainly based on a senior’s suggestion and it turned out to be a comfortable setup and helped me stay focused.

So while it may sound basic, that’s genuinely all I needed given my timeline and background.

Appreciate the feedback.

Best Regards,
Anjal
