Clarification about CIS-DF exam

Hi all,
I need clarification regarding the CIS-Data Foundations (CIS-DF) exam, specifically about its last date. For example, if I registered on April 1st, I understand that I have 90 days to take the exam. However, I have heard that if we do not complete the exam by June 30th, all our CIS certifications may expire. I would like confirmation on whether this information is correct.

Hi

Greetings!

You are mixing up two different deadlines here:

  1. The Delta Exam is free until 30th June.
This means you need to register for the exam on or before 30th June. Once you register, you have 90 days to take the exam. So, technically, if you register on 30th June, you can appear for the exam anytime before 30th September.
  2. Your certifications expire in December 2026 if you don't complete the Delta Exam.
If you do not pass the Delta Exam by December 2026, all seven of your certifications (except ServiceNow Expert-level certifications, if applicable) will expire. Also, if you do not register by 30th June, you will have to pay $450 to take the exam.

So, my recommendation is to register for the exam within the next 4 days to take advantage of the free registration. Then, you can prepare and take the exam anytime within the 90-day validity period after registration.

These 7 mainelines will be expired if you missed DF exam by Dec 2026

  • CIS – Discovery (DISCO)
  • CIS – Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
  • CIS – IT Service Management (ITSM)
  • CIS – Service Mapping (SM)
  • CIS – Security Incident Response (SIR)
  • CIS – Software Asset Management (SAM)
  • CIS – Vulnerability Response (VR)

Hi @Devansh00

This is only partial information, buddy. What we shared earlier is correct, and many members have already registered for the exam.

The key point is: if you register after 30th June, you can still take the exam, but you must complete it before December 2026.

Please don’t get confused about this.

Hi @Devansh00

Dont get confused.

By 30th june  2026, if you register for CIS-DF, no exam cost is needed.  The day when you register, from that day 90 days would be counted for scheduling the exam.

If you do not register for this exam by 30th june, you have to pay after 30 th june.

Hope it is clear now.
