Clone User table from Prod to Sub prod instance

Hi Team, 

We are planning to Clone the Prod to Sub-prod including "Sys_user" table, my questions are

1. If we clone, will it create new accounts or update existing users accounts?

2. We have some web service accounts too, will it update the passwords too? will it impact on credentials.

3. Does this impact any user login credentials? 

4. Also, does it copy roles and groups same as prod?

Please suggest, thank you.

Hi there,

It depends if you have clone preservers/excludes on your instance. Though if not:

1. Existing user accounts will be overwritten

2. Yes passwords will be overwritten

3. Again yes

4. Yes sys_user_grmember, sys_user_has_role, etc. will be copied

1. Existing user accounts will be overwritten

2. Yes passwords will be overwritten

3. Again yes

Will it Wipe out existing user accounts in sub-pord? if sys_id's doesn't match?

If you don't have any preservers in place, yes all will be wiped and replaced with what is in the source instance.
