Close Button functionality

Hi all,

We have a button 'MarkClose'  when we pressed this button it checks the mandatory fields in the form and and changes the state to close now the thning is when we pressed this button and wants to update something on the form it always give the error that mandatory field are not filled even if i not pressing this button i'm just simply clicking the save button to update the form. It is even letting me update the form till then i refresh the page but it will remove all the updates which are not saved.

Any idea how to solve this problem..

Share the code in your custom UI Action.  Since it's changing the State field, you may have other scripts or policies that are triggered for that state value.  I'm not following the rest of this.  If you have mandatory fields that aren't populated, you're going to get an error however you save/update/submit the record.  Screenshots would also be helpful.
