Hi All,
Our contractor wants to develop a filter for the "CI Class" field on the Incident Management & Change Management forms. The filter will be based on the operational status and name. The purpose is to restrict the CI class on the Incident form that will display the classes and its child classes. This to resolve the issue where CIs have the same name across different classes so that users will know what name to select.
When it comes to the CMDB I want to make sure our approach is done correctly. So the concern is...if the contractor puts a filter on the CI Class on the Incident table and Change Management, then it should be consistent across all of the tables that have the CI Class field. For example, if they login to Incident, the CI Class should not display a different list than if they select the CI Class in Asset Management as an example.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Are there any gotcha's that we need to be concerned about by our filtering the CI Class field? Or is there a better approach?
Best,
