Provider Notification: This goes to people outside your company.
System Notification: Stays within your company.
A quick example of a provider notification is: Imagine your company's internet goes down. ServiceNow sends a message to the provider that fixes the internet. This message could be sent through email, WhatsApp, or Microsoft Teams, telling them to come and fix the problem. On the other hand, you have the common system notifications that will notify your IT teams about the outage.
