Create HR Case Virtual Agent OOB Topic Block

Hi all,

 

I am trying to use the OOB Create HR Case topic block, but keep running into walls. The first issue I have is that I can get it to create an HR case albeit with some fields blank that I want to be populated. Screenshot 2023-11-29 at 3.39.12 PM.png

For example: it does not populate the assignment group field nor the preferred contact number field and I was wondering how I get it to do that. The source of the case is also wrong as this came through the virtual agent rather than a phone call, so being able to adjust that would also be great.
Also, I am curious as to what the vaInput "Case Questions" is? What does it do? What is its purpose and what am I supposed to do with it? I notice in the script include that it mentions "// Add Fields to Case, but what does that mean? Not a very helpful comment and I notice that whenever I have something other than "[]" in the case questions input field, it breaks on me.

@nathandanek If you would like to extend the functionality of an OOTB topic block you can create your own topic block and reuse the topic block provided OOTB for more information please refer to https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/vancouver-servicenow-platform/page/administer/virtual-agent/task/...

 

 

I am not trying to extend the functionality, I am just trying to use it OOTB, but there is an embarrassing lack of documentation on how to use this topic block and I am just trying to get advice from someone who has used this before and gotten it working.
