Creating update sets on personal Dev instance

Are you able to create update sets on your personal dev instance and import them into your companies Dev/Prod instance?

Yes, but its a bad idea.  Development for company solutions should be done on Company DEV instances.  That way you know for SURE you have all the underlying and expected configurations for that company.

Thanks Robert.   Our Company Dev/Prod instances were built out for us several years back with a lot of customizations that took us far from OOB experience.  We have a test instance now and are in the process of rebuilding.  In the process of creating/testing, we didn't get all changes in update sets and it started getting messy.

I've got a new personal dev instance on the same version our company is using.  My plan is to create a new update set and reconfigure to capture the changes.  Luckily it's not but a couple hours worth of configurations.

I plan on then importing these into our Company Dev.  This is just to get us back to a clean start and nothing I plan on doing long.

Hi @Danny Barker ,

I couln't agree more with @Uncle Rob  - this is not the way to go. Company development should be done on company instance - not on PDI.
