Database view and function field

Hey everyone, I’m having an odd issue with a function field and database view.

If I try to create a database view and then add a function field, the entire database gets corrupted somehow. Not all records on the dictionary table will display, tons of errors in the log and the only way to stop it is to delete the entire database view (it won’t even let you delete the function field by itself).

I tested this in a fresh dev instance and I get the same issue. I can create a function field fine on OOTB database views, but when I try to create one for my database view I get this issue.

I found a few previous posts about this but no fixes. 

Any thoughts?

So when you create a function field on OOTB database view table it works but doesn't work for your database view table?

share some screenshots.
