Hi,
We are facing the issue with the duplicate CI's name but class name is different, while doing the discovery run.
name | sys_class_name | location | discovery_source | last_discovered | asset | ip_address | asset_tag | attributes | can_print | category |
abc123 | Windows Server | ServiceNow | 11/7/17 21:51 | VMware, Inc. VMware Virtual Platform | 10.xx.xxx.123 | FALSE | Hardware | |||
ABC123 | VMware Virtual Machine Instance | abc | ServiceNow | 11/8/17 22:07 | FALSE |
Any thoughts would be appreciated!! thanks

Hi Santosh,
Have you used any classification for this CI's or any additional probes.
Can you see ecc queue and which Probes and sensor's are used to discovery this.
Thank you,
Ashutosh

Afternoon,
This is normal as they are two different kinds of CI types. One represents the actual Windows server and will contain all the hardware/software information about that server. The second is a VMware Virtual Machine Instance CI type and it contains more VMware based data related to that Virtual Machine. You may also see VMware Virtual Machine Instance CI's for servers that a not online as these can be created from VCenter probes.
