Edit Assessment Metric with no impact to existing assessments

Hello all,

Is there a way to edit the questions (aka Assessment Metrics) for a Questionnaire Template without impacting existing/in progress assessment instances (AINST)? 

**currently in Rome release.

The requirement is to be able to edit questions (change text, add options to multi select, etc) and not  impact the assessments that are still being taken or those that are completed. The edits should only appear for new assessments sent out.

In my testing I discovered that adding a question (assessment metric) to a questionnaire template or setting it to inactive will not effect prior assessment instances. Making edits is where I am having issues. 

Looking for OOB solution preferably but I am also open to workarounds, customization, etc. All help is welcomed and appreciated! Thank you!

I don't think it will affect assessment which is already been sent for users, It will affect only new assessment which is yet to be sent.

I tried editing and it affects all assessments (in progress, complete, new).

I am having a similar issue. We updated surveys and the old reporting data appears to be gone. Did you make your changes in sub PROD? I am looking for a way to recover this data. Were you able to do that? Thanks.
