Edit Button for Applications and Modules on my PDI does not show

Hello everybody,

I am learning on my PDI and wanted to use the Edit functionality for applications and modules in the menu, e.g. for Shopping Hub (marked in the picture below). But the Edit symbol does not show, although I am having admin role.

What do I have to do to make this Edit functionality work and show in the menu?

Hi, thanks everyone for your help. I found the solution. In fact, it's so silly that I am embarrassed that I asked. I found that I had Shopping Hub in the Favorites. And actually, when I go to my favorites, the Edit function does not show. Only when I navigate to Shopping Hub without using the favorites, then Edit sign will show. So, I guess it's not very user friendly but now I know 🙂

Ahoy @AlexandraJ,

could you share a screenshot from your instance where you have Shopping hub enabled (subject of a plugin) and what happens when you hover over on the line

Also, do you see it for other module/applications? If you don't see it for ANY of the modules, then you might miss your admin role or the ACL on the two tables is customised.

Navigate to these two tables to access the same record that you would access by clicking the Edit button:

  • For Applications: https://yourInstance.service-now.com/sys_app_application_list.do
  • For Modules: https://yourInstance.service-now.com/sys_app_module_list.do

To know the difference, in your example "Shopping hub" is an Application (is collapsible/expansible) and "Shopping Hub Home" is a Module (is associated under the parent = Application).

Try navigating to the URLs I shared above and you should be able to see what's the issue, if you don't have access, review the update ACL on the two tables (sys_app_application & sys_app_module) or whether it is active etc.

Hello glideFather,

thanks for your answer. In fact, when I hover over other modules and applications, the Edit symbol is visible.

So, why does it not show for Shopping Hub? How can I configure this to make it visible?

Thanks anyway for giving me the two direct tables to access. This is helpful. I went to the tables but I am not able to figure out what could be the issue of me not seeing the Edit symbol in the All-Navigation bar. What should I be looking for / what to check?

Thanks for your help.

@AlexandraJ I'm not familiar with Shopping hub, myself but first thing what goes on my mind is that there might be a chance of having a different scope, in the top-right corner, try to select particular scope (Shopping hub or any other, not sure as I don't know it) and then try to hover over again..

This is not solution, rather a suggestion

Hi @AlexandraJ

Ensure You have selected  correct Scope.

If your Application is in scoped app ( custom role created in that scope only) and you are trying to access your scoped Application from Global scope , In that case it might restrict you to access the application.
