Email Templates

Hi All,

We send out Email notifications for all sorts of reasons (request open, request closed, change requested, incident updates, etc..) but the team really has no HTML creative skills and so the e-mails are just text and nothing fancy.

Seeing the notification that come from HI and the notification for that IDE conversation, is there a repository available for developers to download e-mail templates where we can then customize with our branding and so on?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi JPing,

ServiceNow provides a range of built-in email templates that you can customize. To access and modify these templates:

  1. Navigate to: System Notification > Email > Templates
  2. Search: Look for templates relevant to the notifications you’re sending (e.g., Incident, Request).
  3. Customize: Open a template to modify it. You can adjust the HTML and text to fit your branding needs.

2.

There are several resources where you can find HTML email templates that you can adapt for use with ServiceNow:

  • Email Template Repositories: Websites like Litmus, Mailchimp, and BEE Free offer free and paid HTML email templates. You can download these templates, customize them with your branding, and then integrate them into your ServiceNow notifications.

  • GitHub: Search for email templates on GitHub. Many developers share their email template projects, which you can use as a base and modify according to your needs.

If you found this helpful, please hit like and accept it as a solution.

I’ve been in a similar situation where emails were mostly just plain text, and it felt like they were missing that professional touch. For a while, I stuck to basic templates too, but I ended up finding a great resource at maestrolabs.com that had some really useful email templates, which I could easily customize with our branding and make the emails look more polished.Once I had those templates, it made things a lot easier for the team. We didn’t need any fancy HTML skills; just plug in the right content and tweak the design a bit. You could also check out how to write follow up email guides, which gave me some great ideas for crafting more engaging messages.
