External Status Page and Monitoring

Hey I'm pretty new to service now but I cant find any documentation on people using an external status page with their service now instance. For example I want to use a page like statuspage.io or any other page that will simply show the status of my service now instance. The use case is I need to implement a status page which shows if service now is working and also show if my other web applications. Any information would be helpful.

Thanks in Advance!

Hi Ali,

there is no external status page available. However, a homepage containing Performance metrics is available within the platform for administrators.

Hope this helps you forward.

Kind regards,

Stijn

Hey Stijn,

I was aware there are no oob external status pages available. But is it not possible to somehow pipe out those performance metrics data to be used for an external status page? I need a way to add service now to another status page which is showing me the status of my other web apps.

Sorry Ali, have no real idea. Just checked how the performance graphs are built up, but the information is protected (as in non-readable). Seems to be stored into the tables jrobin_graph & jrobin_database. Might be they are only visible for ServiceNow themselves.

Maybe it would be a good idea to log your question in the HI support portal of ServiceNow? Who knows they might help you forward in this.

I believe you can make a Portal Page public.
