Extremely weird error: Can see choices in bare form view but not in workspace

Hello, people.
Recently, I've been dealing with quite a few weird, never-seen-before bugs in my company's ServiceNow instances. Here's one of them:
I created a simple "choice" field in a table that I extended from "task". When I access the table itself, I can see all the available choices:
However, when I try to manipulate the field via the workspace that I created for the app, I cannot see any choices at all:
And FWIW, I was not impersonating anyone, and there're no client scripts of access control related to this field.
Does anyone know why this would happen at all?

when you do "inspect" in browser for workspace - are there any errors?
